1 Month Old!!

Well Kailyn turned 1 month old on Friday! We cannot believe that we have been parents to a perfect little person for that long! She gets bigger and cuter every day. She had her 1st cold this week as well and that was not a lot of fun for mom and dad. Kailyn was a trooper though and didn't mind Mom sucking her brains out every hour!
On Saturday we drove to Gainesville to show off Kailyn to the Gainesville family. Here are some of the many highlights:

She could only stay in for a little while because I don't know if you noticed...but she is pale

She loved it and I am sure Kelly will have her in there all summer!

A few of our 1st's

What a big weekend we had for the 4th of July! It contained many firsts for Kailyn, as well as mommy and daddy!

On Thursday evening, Aunt Kelly and Uncle Jamie came up to visit and stay the night. The next morning Jamie and Jason went off to play golf and Kelly and I had a fun filled morning with baby. We packed her up in the BabyBjorn and took a walk to the neighborhood pharmacy with all the dogs! She slept the entire 2 block walk. Next we took her to the local Shoppes in Avondale to help Kelly find fun clothes.

Kailyn helped Kelly pick out the dress seen here:

We then packed up the car and drove the 45 minutes south to Crescent Beach for the night. This was the 1st ever "long" road-trip. She didn't fuss the entire time, actually she slept the entire time...but what else is new!

Once we made it to Crescent Beach, that evening we went for our 1st ever walk on the beach. That didn't go quite as planned and actually she cried through the majority of the trip. It was not because she was unhappy or uncomfortable like her daddy would have liked us to believe. No, it was because she was hungry, like most all of her cries are about!

Saturday afternoon after a lazy day of watching tennis and the back of our eyelids (Kailyn), we drove back to Jacksonville to watch the fireworks down the street from our house. It seemed like a great idea at the time, but apparently the majority of the westside of Jacksonville decided to come to the Ortega Bridge to watch the fireworks as well. We walked the 5 minutes down to the bridge and Kailyn was awake for the entire show. Granted, I don't think she could have cared less, just as long as we didn't take the bottle out of her mouth she was fine.

So many firsts for little Kailyn Paige. Hopefully she will enjoy the many more that are coming her way because everything is so much more fun seeing the first through the eyes of your child!

Silly faces for daddy (because those are NOT mommy's hairy legs!!)

Welcome Kailyn Paige Ryals!!!!

Kailyn Paige Ryals

On June 17, 2009 at 2:31pm, we welcomed our beautiful daughter Kailyn Paige Ryals. She is definitely the best thing that has ever happened to Jason and me. While I start this blog, she is sleeping soundly (okay, she is making all sorts of noises in her sleep) in front of me and the facial expressions made me smile from ear to ear. There really is nothing better than watching a newborn sleep, what could they possibly be dreaming about that causes so many emotions?!?!

I will be updating this site with images of her for the family and friends that are not able to see her as often as they would like. I will do my darndest to make sure that I do this often.

We have our 2 week check-up tomorrow afternoon. I am scared for her because she is going to be getting her Hep-B shots. I think I might cry more than she will, if she even cries! Nothing upsets this child, she is really the best baby ever! Just last night she slept from 10:30pm to 2:45am!! After her feeding, she went back to bed until 7am!! I think she gets the sleeping skills from me! Actually I know she gets them from me! As far as the rest of her, here is how we think it breaks down:
Hair - definitely Jason
Ears - Mine (they are little elf ears, too cute)
Nose - Jason
Lips - Mine
Toes & Fingers - Jason (absolutely beautiful, she will never be allowed to chew them!)
Eyes - still not sure, we will have to see what color they settle on

She is a perfect mix of the 2 of us and we couldn't be happier with everything about her! Eventually I will have to take her out of the house, but until I go back to work I am going to hog all the time I can with her.

Enjoy some more pictures!
